Hello everyone! Permit me to wish you a “Happy new month”….it’s been a minute here. Today’s post is very dear to my heart.
Have you been entangled in a behaviour you want to come out from but each time you gather strength to do so, you end up going deep down the pit of same behaviour? Well, you’re not alone. Everyone has or has had a form of addiction. That’s because we’re human. There is nothing we can do with our human strength.
“He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail”…..I Samuel 2:9
Apparently, we are spirit beings too. Spirits are not ordinary and for us Christians, when we have a close relationship with the Holy Spirit, we are able to hear and obey Him whenever He speaks to us. This is how we do the extraordinary; by obeying the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a guide and a character shaper; one thing I have known about Him in my Christian jounery.
This post is a testimony of a brother and a friend; Jay Gospel. I asked him if I could share it and that I would hide his identity. He said “yes! and please don’t hide my identity. I am not ashamed of the gospel.”
This is something beautiful to be emulated.
“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death”….Revelation 12:11.
Please read with all humility and sound mind. And I believe it will impact you one way or the other.
The Story of my life; My Testimony
In my childhood, I saw with my eyes pilferage turn into stealing. Over and over, I not only stole things but caused pain to my family with this habit. It became so unbearable that I remember, on one occasion, my mom asked them to send me to the police station. Eavesdropping, I heard her tell my uncle they should take me there but not in the cell, just to scare me😊. As if that was enough, I had no desire of my own to stop.
This morning as I was meditating on:
“The one who steals must steal no longer; rather he must labor, doing good with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with the one who has need.” – Ephesians 4:28, at the very first line, the Holy Spirit gave me a flashback of my childhood experience.
From 14th-18th August 2006, my life took a dramatic turnaround to my surprise, I didn’t know how and when it happened but at the end of the camp meeting, I lost the appetite to steal. I couldn’t hold my tears this morning, cos this has been one of the transformational miracles of my life. I was just imagining how horrible my SHS life would have been with that habit of stealing, would I have been able to come this far? How would life in the bank have been with that habit? And would I have been here?
Not only have I read about Jesus’ encounter with Paul, turning his life around but I am a testament of His transformational power. Trust me, I didn’t know how it happened but all I know is when I met Him and accepted Him into my life, it wasn’t a process, in an instant, I never desired anything that wasn’t mine or given to me. This could only be done by Jesus cos I never asked or desired that change but he did me good.
I stepped by this night to tell you to come as you are and that Jesus is in the transformation business of changing lives. Maybe you are struggling with an addiction or any issue, Jesus saves lives and transforms lives.
Accept Him in your life and your life won’t be the same.
If He did it for Paul, He will do it for you
If He did it for me, He will do it for you
I don’t know how He did it but I’m grateful
Thank You Jesus🙌🏽
Jesus indeed makes everything new
Just give Jesus a chance
I’ve tasted and seen the transformational power of The Almighty, therefore I testify
I am enjoying grace, you are invited to this grace banquet by The king of kings and The Lord of lords
This is The story of my life; my testimony
